The Spring Festival overseas comforting overseas Chinese event in Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province was held in Argentina

　　It is reported that to practice the purpose of protecting and caring for overseas Chinese, and uniting their hearts and strength, the United Front Work Department of Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province, together with the Nanchang County Overseas Chinese Federation, organized an overseas comforting event for overseas Chinese during the Spring Festival. They entrusted the Jiangxi General Chamber of Commerce in Argentina and the Argentine Chinese Education Foundation to organize the "Warm Welcome to Spring, Celebrating the Chinese New Year" event. This event aimed to convey New Year greetings and profound care from the motherland to the overseas Chinese community in Argentina, which is farthest from China.

　　Liu Fangyong, the president of the Jiangxi General Chamber of Commerce in Argentina, expressed his sincere gratitude in his speech for the long-standing care and concern shown by the United Front Work Department of Nanchang County and the Nanchang County Overseas Chinese Federation towards overseas Chinese in Argentina. Liu Fangyong stated that in 2024, the Jiangxi General Chamber of Commerce in Argentina continued to develop, with an unprecedented enthusiasm among its members, demonstrating a high level of passion and strong cohesion. This year, the chamber not only efficiently and excellently completed important tasks assigned by various domestic departments but also successfully hosted nearly ten delegation visits. Through these exchange and visitation activities, it greatly enhanced the close ties between Argentina and China, especially with Jiangxi Province. It successfully fostered investment intentions from several enterprises in Jiangxi Province into Argentina, injecting vitality into the economic cooperation and development between the two sides and providing a platform for Chinese enterprises to enter Argentina.

　　Director Wang Jinyi of the Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy in Argentina pointed out in his speech that this comforting event for overseas Chinese is very meaningful. While celebrating the Spring Festival and promoting Chinese culture, it also enhances the friendship and cohesion among overseas Chinese in Argentina. Over the past year, the overseas Chinese community in Argentina has united and collaborated to spread Chinese culture and promote cooperation between China and Argentina in various fields, achieving fruitful results. In the new year, we hope that the overseas Chinese community in Argentina will continue to carry forward the fine tradition of unity and collaboration, further advance the construction of a harmonious overseas Chinese community, help overseas Chinese better integrate into local society, and inject new momentum into spreading Chinese culture and promoting friendly cooperation between China and Argentina in various fields.

　　During the event, President Liu Fangyong and Director Wang Jinyi represented the Nanchang County Government of Jiangxi Province in distributing consolation money to overseas Chinese aged 60 and above.

　　According to Liu Fangyong, the Nanchang County Government has been organizing comforting events for overseas Chinese in Argentina for many years. Yan Qingfeng, the chairman of the Nanchang County Overseas Chinese Federation, hopes that by hosting this event, it will enhance the friendship between overseas Chinese and fellow countrymen, convey greetings and New Year blessings from their homeland. He also looks forward to the Jiangxi General Chamber of Commerce in Argentina continuing to strive forward, expanding its business areas, improving service levels, and making greater contributions to the economic and trade cooperation between China and Argentina.
